How Thin Is Too Thin?

This is a question that many people ask. Whether you want to become thin yourself or you are looking at thin models on TV or in magazines, just how thin is too thin?

A common misconception is that people think that someone is less healthy and more prone to health problems when they are overweight. Well of course, being overweight or obese has its own problems but being too thin can also be massively unhealthy. Diseases such as anorexia can be hugely dangerous on the individual both physically and mentally. This is when a person tries to avoid eating foods and mainly sticks to liquids as the often think they look fat when they look at themselves.

Another “weight” related disease is bulimia. This is quite the opposite of anorexia. This is when a person will eat food, then immediately make themselves be sick and throw up the food they have just eaten. Again this is a very physical and mental condition.

So how thin is too thin?

I guess the only answer to that question is too thin is when it is affecting your health. Someone can look very thin but be a very healthy person. Where as someone can look thin and be suffering from one of the diseases we have mentioned above. If a person is too thin and not healthy, then that is too thin.

Many models get negative press for being too thin but they have to remain thin to keep in work. Some of them do this by not eating well but many just have a fast metabolism and don’t put weight on easily.
